 Day and Night
Merciless Sun
Bright Savage
Glares upon all
Energetic tyrant
Rides through the day
Giving and taking
Demanding growth
Offers no comfort
Relief comes slowly
When at twilight
Wearied he sleeps
Upon purple stones
With soft amber curtains
That guard his gold
And surround his slumber
As darkness descends
Announcing in whispers
His faithful consort
Limpid white mother
So pale and mild
Cool are her fingers
To assuage the burns
His brash stare
Has rendered
Hard on her children
She quenches their thirst
Caresses the pain
Hiding her passion
Beneath a soft veil
She watches the night
And waits for his waking
